If at the scheduled start time of a match one team fails to field a team of 6 with a minimum of 3 female players, it is normally accepted that up to two guest players can complete the team provided that the minimum number of female players is complied with.

Teams can play with less than 6 players with the agreement of the opposing team and at the discretion of the referee. If this is not achieved the team at fault then forfeits the game with a 0-7 score.

After the referee has determined that both teams are present and ready they place the dodgeballs in the CDZ. The referee will start the game.

A maximum of 3 players from each team will run to collect the balls. Once possession is attained the ball must reach the backcourt before an attempt can be made.
