Leading Team Possession
If:
one team has more players remaining than the opposition and controls all the balls
- the teams have an equal number of players and one team has possession of two balls
That team must make a valid attempt on the opposing team so that they no longer control the majority of the balls within five seconds of the referee making a five second call.
When a team is leading, players can be called out by a referee for the following reasons:
- placing the ball just over the CDZ,
- rolling the ball into the opposite court,
- throwing the ball deliberately above the reach of the opposing players,
- throwing into the floor so it bounces to the opposing team,
- deliberately throwing the ball ‘out of bounds’
- deliberately stalling play by holding onto the ball(s) for longer than five seconds.
